Dedicated to my late Uncle Ralph, this work is a setting of a powerful text that is attributed to the Holocaust and Nazi oppression of the Jews during WWII. At his passing, the story of Ralph's flight from Berlin on the night of Kristallnacht in 1938 awoke in me a desire to find this text and set it as an affirmation that no matter when the sun isn't shining, we don't feel loved, or God is silent, that our faith can be the thing that pulls us through.
